The Technidouanes expert assists companies in the event of difficulties in interpreting the combined nomenclature by submitting a technical report perfectly describing the goods to indicate and justify their tariff classification according to the classification principles (the general rules of interpretation, section and chapter notes; heading and subheading terms; explanatory notes to the Harmonized Commodity Coding and Description System; explanatory notes to the Combined Nomenclature; regulations relating to the classification of certain goods in the combined nomenclature; and case law).

The tariff classification of a good is an essential element to indicate in an import declaration. An error on the part of the importer (or his freight forwarder) exposes him to a customs sanction, and possibly to a reminder of customs duties on the declarations filed during the previous three years.
